There are two official ways and both are free: (1) go to your village office with your KTP and KK and ask to be added to DTSEN, or (2) use the Usul (Propose) menu in the Cek Bansos app with your KK number and NIK. Officers then verify your data.
Requirements
- Indonesian citizen with a valid electronic KTP
- NIK registered and matched in civil registration (Dukcapil)
- Listed in DTSEN (National Single Socio-Economic Database)
- A poor or vulnerable family — usually deciles 1 to 4
- Not a civil servant (ASN), military (TNI) or police (Polri) member
Each program has extra conditions. For example PKH requires a pregnant woman, toddler, school child, elderly person or person with a severe disability in the family.
Register online on your phone (Cek Bansos app)
- Install the Cek Bansos appFrom Google Play or the App Store. Make sure the publisher is the Ministry of Social Affairs.
- Create an account and wait for activationPrepare your KK number, NIK, email, KTP photo and a selfie holding the KTP. Activation usually takes 1–3 working days.
- Open the Usul menuChoose to propose yourself or a family member.
- Enter the KK number and NIKThe system checks your data and shows the aid you can propose for.
- SubmitOfficers verify your family’s situation before the proposal is confirmed.

Register through your village office
- Go to the village officeBring the KTP and family card for the whole family.

This option suits people without a phone or who find the app difficult. For Village BLT, recipients are also chosen at the village meeting.
Documents to prepare
- Electronic KTP of the head of family and the family caretaker
- Latest family card (KK)
- Active phone number and email (for app registration)
- Supporting papers where relevant, e.g. the mother-and-child health book, proof of schooling or a disability letter

- NIK or KK data does not match Dukcapil.
- Blurry KTP photo or selfie in the app.
- The situation reported differs from what officers find on their visit.
- A family member works as a civil servant, soldier or police officer.
What happens after you register
Your proposal is verified and, if you qualify, your family is added to DTSEN with a decile. The government then chooses program recipients by decile and quota. Check your status regularly on cekbansos.kemensos.go.id.
Because quotas are limited, even families in priority deciles may wait several periods before receiving aid.
Beware of registration hoaxes
Messages such as “register online for Rp3.5 million bansos” or “click this link to receive payment” on WhatsApp and social media should be treated as suspicious. Official registration is only through your village office or the Cek Bansos app, and it is always free.
