Download Cek Bansos from Google Play or the App Store, create an account with your KK number, NIK, email, a KTP photo and a selfie holding your KTP, then wait for the activation email from Kemensos. Activation usually takes 1–3 working days.
What the Cek Bansos app does
- Cek Bansos — see whether your family is registered and which programs it receives.
- Usul (Propose) — propose yourself or someone else who qualifies but is not registered.
- Sanggah (Dispute) — report a recipient you believe does not qualify.
If you only want to check your status, you do not need the app. You can check on cekbansos.kemensos.go.id without an account.
How to download the genuine app
- Open an official app storeGoogle Play on Android or the App Store on iPhone.
- Search for “Cek Bansos”Make sure the publisher is the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
- Install and open itAllow camera access; you need it for the KTP photo and selfie during registration.
“Cek Bansos APK” files sent in chain messages can contain malware that steals data and empties bank accounts. Only install the app from Google Play or the App Store.
How to create an account
On the first screen choose Buat Akun Baru (create a new account) and prepare:
- Family card (KK) number and NIK
- Full name as on your KTP
- Full address: province, regency/city, district, village
- Active email, phone number, username and password
- A clear photo of your KTP
- A selfie holding your KTP
- KTP photo tilted, dark or with glare.
- Face unclear in the selfie, or the KTP covers the face.
- Name or address typed differently from the KTP.
- Email mistyped, so the activation email never arrives.
Account activation: how long and how
After you register, a Kemensos officer verifies your account and sends an activation notice to your email. This usually takes 1–3 working days, but can take longer when many people register or when your data is unclear.
If activation does not arrive
- Check your spam folderThe activation email sometimes lands in spam or promotions.
- Wait up to 3 working daysRegistrations on weekends or holidays are processed on the next working day.
- Register again with clearer photosBlurry, dark or cropped KTP photos are the most common reason for rejection.
- Contact official supportUse the help contact on the app’s store page or the Kemensos Command Center on 171.
Cannot log in to the Cek Bansos app
- Account not activated yet. You can only log in after receiving the activation email.
- Wrong username or password. Check capital letters and spaces.
- Unstable connection. Move to a stronger network and try again.
- Old app version. Update the app from the store.
- Corrupted cache. Clear the app cache (steps below), then log in again.
Fixing the JSON parse error and crashes
The “error JSON parse” message usually means the app did not receive a complete answer from the server — for example because the server is busy or your connection dropped. It does not mean there is a problem with your data.
- Wait and try againServers are often overloaded when payments are announced. Try again a few hours later.
- Restart your phoneTurn it off briefly, turn it on, then open the app.
- Update the appOpen the Cek Bansos page in the store and tap Update if available.
- Clear the cacheOn Android: Settings → Apps → Cek Bansos → Storage → Clear cache.
- Free up storageKeep at least 1–2 GB free on your phone.
- Reinstall the appUninstall, reinstall from the official store, then log in with the same account.

Checking PKH in the Cek Bansos app
- Log inUse your activated account.
- Choose the Cek Bansos menuFill in the details as on your KTP.
- Read the list of aidIf your family receives PKH, it is shown with its payment period. Other programs such as BPNT are shown too.

How long does Cek Bansos activation take?

I registered but cannot log in. Why?
Most often the account has not been activated yet. Wait for the activation email. If it is active, check your username, password, connection and app version.
Is the Cek Bansos app paid?
No. The official app is free and only available on Google Play and the App Store.
Do I need the app to check bansos?
