Bansos Document Requirements 2026: What to Bring for Each Program

Many aid applications are delayed simply because one document is missing or a name does not match. This page lists what each program asks for, extra documents that depend on your family’s situation, and how to obtain every supporting letter.

Short answer

Every program needs an electronic KTP and an up-to-date family card (KK) with a NIK matched in civil registration. Each program then asks for extras — for example the mother-and-child health book (buku KIA) for pregnant mothers in PKH, the parent’s death certificate for orphan aid, or an SKTM and income statement for KIP Kuliah.

Basic documents almost every program needs

  • Electronic KTP of the head of family and/or the family caretaker (usually the mother)
  • Latest family card (KK) — every family member must be listed
  • A NIK matched with civil registration (test it at cekbansos.kemensos.go.id)
  • An active phone number — plus email if you register in the Cek Bansos app
Bring originals and photocopies

Village officers usually keep photocopies but want to see the originals. Prepare 2 copies of each document and keep photos of them on your phone as a backup.

The mistakes that most often delay applications
  • Names spelled differently on the KTP and KK (for example “Siti Aminah” and “St. Aminah”).
  • An old KK: a newborn is not listed yet, or a deceased member is still listed.
  • Blurry, dark or cropped KTP photos when registering in the app.
  • The KTP address differs from where you live, without a domicile letter.

Documents by program

Extra documents are only needed if they match your family’s situation. Requirements can differ slightly between regions, so also confirm with your social facilitator or village office.

Examples: what to prepare for different families

The three examples below are illustrations to help you picture what you need. The names and situations are not real people.

Mrs Rina, 5 months pregnant, with a child in grade 3

Wants to be proposed for PKH through the village office.

What to bring:
  • KTP of Mrs Rina and her husband
  • Latest KK (child already listed)
  • Buku KIA from the posyandu/puskesmas
  • Student card or letter of active enrolment for the child

If registering in the Cek Bansos app, also prepare a KTP photo, a selfie holding the KTP and a photo of the house front.

Dimas, 12, whose father died last year

Now cared for by his grandmother and to be proposed for orphan aid (ATENSI YAPI).

What to bring:
  • Dimas’s birth certificate
  • Updated KK
  • Grandmother’s KTP as guardian
  • Father’s death certificate
  • Orphan certificate from the village (with an RT/RW letter)

If there is no death certificate yet, get one first at Disdukcapil with a death statement from the village or a doctor — it is free.

Sari, just finished high school, father is a day labourer

Wants to apply for KIP Kuliah but her father has no payslip.

What to bring:
  • NISN, school NPSN, NIK and an active email
  • Family KKS card, or an SKTM from the village
  • Income statement from the village (instead of a payslip)
  • Family card
  • Photos of the house front and living room
  • Latest electricity bill or PBB tax notice

Fix the basics first

If any civil registration data is wrong, correct the KK and KTP at Disdukcapil first. Village letters (SKTM, domicile, orphan) and aid registration go much more smoothly once the basic data is right.

Frequently asked questions

Is the SKTM still used for bansos?

It is not always required for DTSEN registration, but it is still used for things like PIP and KIP Kuliah when the family has no aid card.

Do birth certificates, death certificates and the KK cost money?

No. Civil registration documents at Disdukcapil are free. Refuse and report anyone who asks for payment.

When do I need a domicile letter?

Usually when your KTP address differs from where you live, for example for Village BLT or verification by officers at your new address.

What is the SPTJM for Sekolah Rakyat?

The SPTJM is a parent’s or guardian’s statement of full responsibility, committing that the child will complete school.

I lost a document. What should I do?

For a lost KTP, KK or certificate, get a police loss report and apply for a replacement at Disdukcapil. For a lost KKS card, take the loss report to the issuing bank.
